I too was intrigued when I saw this headline on the Orange news site a while ago and never realised that the Guinness Book of Records would have a record for the worlds longest cat.

Yes you did indeed read this right, this is a story that was first published in 2008 but I’ve just come across it in the mail online, since it’s not time sensitive I though I would share my find here.
As a family we are cat people, my mum has 2, my sister has 2, my nanna has 3, my auntie has 3 or 4 (I lose count) and I have 3. I was lucky enough to see my aunties kittens just a few days old. There’s 3 of them here, all cuddle up with each other and so tiny that all 3 of them fit on 2 hands.
Over the last few days I’ve been suffering with a bad cold which always makes my asthma bad. What I love most about my cats is their ability to know when I’m not feeling so well and there dedication to stay with me until I feel better. I have 3 cats but it’s always my eldest, Willow who takes on this caring role. After being deposited on my sofa by my brother in law yesterday, Willow came to get under the blanket and stayed there until I went to bed. This morning I woke up to find her with her body under the duvet and her head resting on the pillow just like a human. I would have a been a fantastic photo opportunity but I was too comfy to move and I doubt she would have stayed there until I got back with my camera anyway. A few minutes later she crawled under the duvet to snuggle in against my stomach and I can tell you there’s nothing more comforting than having a cat snuggle in against your bare skin and hearing them purr.
Cats always have the knack of making you feel better when you’re ill or upset, they say laughter is the best medicine but I think cats make great medicine too.
