We humans have a wide range of pro biotic drinks now available from our local supermarket, some people swear by them. I’m not a pro-biotic drinker so I’ve no personal experience of their benefits, but there’s something similar available for your cat called Lacto B.  This composed of natural ingredients which is freeze dried and only becomes activated once it enters the intestines.

In a normal cats intestines the wall is covered in “friendly” bacteria, if you’re cat is stressed, been unwell or had a recent course of antibiotics, there could be less of these friendly bacteria which provide a protective layer on the intestine walls.  This would leave space for bad bacteria to attach themselves to the intestine wall and cause issues.

The Lacto B can be sprinkled onto food or dissolved in water so can easily be given to cats.
