Did you know that there are at least 6 different types of cat beds? In fact cats probably have more choice in what they can sleep in then us mere humans! (I’m not counting the washing baskets
)
Just so you know which 6 I’m talking about I’ll list them below and if you can think of any more, just enter them as a comment at the bottom of this page.
- Heated cat beds
- Igloo beds
- Radiator cat beds
- Wicker beds
- Soft pet beds
- Window Cat Beds
Heated cat beds are the height of luxury they are designed to keep your cat warm but you can always use a normal bed and put a pet warmer in such as a snugglesafe or an electric pet blanket.

Igloos are those that have a roof or are shaped like a dome. They let your cat snuggle in and hide from the rest of the world. Some cats feel safer when they are surround by a bed on all sides plus as they have a roof they help keep any heat in for a bit longer. If you’ve heard of the term cat pyramid bed, these are also known as igloo beds.
Radiator pet beds are those hammock type beds that can be hung from a radiator. Most cats love them especially when the radiators on
. They’re generally inexpensive and have covers that can be removed from the metal frame to make it easy for washing.
Wicker cat beds are a style all of their own, they tend to be basket shape and can be either 1 tier or 2 so your cat has a choose of where to sleep or if your a 2 cat household there’s room for them both.
Soft pet beds can come in any shape colour and size, they may also fall into another category such as a igloo or heated pet bed depending on it’s features or functions. They can have removable bottom cushions which are washable or the whole thing can be shoved into the washer.

Window beds are those that are designed to be attached to the window so your kitty can watch the world go by in comfort.
There are also more types of cat beds such as novelty cat beds and pink beds seem to be popular too.
So which bed for your cat do you buy and why?
